Why Donate to the NEIH Development Fund?

The North East of England has a proud tradition of top quality ice hockey, and today this still continues with the Mobilx Vipers who compete in the bmibaby Elite League and the Billingham Bombers, Mobilx Vipers Reserves and Whitley Warriors who all compete in the English National League (North). Over the years, the North East has produced some of the best home grown talent, with the likes of Alfie Miller, the Cooper brothers, David Longstaff, Hep Tindale, the Matthews brothers, the Johnson family, Jonathan Weaver and Terry Ward having all progressed through our local teams.

The Gate NEIH was formed back in April 2003 with the aim of bringing all the latest breaking news and results 24/7. Since then the online community has grown to an extent where NEIH now finds it's self as an integral part of the sport within the Great North East. The popularity and continued support from NEIH members has resulted in the community being able to donate and sponsor local teams through various streams including match night sponsorship and dasher board advertising.

In an aim to maintain NEIH's financial assistance to the local clubs and junior development schemes, the NEIH Development Fund has been launched. The objective of the fund is to develop links between NEIH and all local Ice Hockey teams and organisations. The iniative will support local teams through financial donation and sponsorship, marketing awareness of the sport within the North East and contribute to the increasing overhead costs of the NEIH community. The Fund's objectives will be achieved via donations from NEIH members, sponsorship and specially organised events around the North East.
